Nearly 400 bikers gathered at Brian’s Harley-Davidson on the morning of July 19th to take part in the third St. Mary Cyclefest, a 65-mile ride through Bucks County. The bikers and their guests couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to hit the open road before they participated in the celebration at Core Creek Park in Langhorne.Nearly 400 bikers gathered at Brian’s Harley-Davidson on the morning of July 19th to take part in the third St. Mary Cyclefest, a 65-mile ride through Bucks County. The bikers and their guests couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to hit the open road before they participated in the celebration at Core Creek Park in Langhorne.
At the park, attendees enjoyed a delicious Tennessee BBQ buffet, live entertainment by the band Deadbolt, bike show, silent auction, basket raffle, and complimentary photos. A dozen vendor booths offered riders and their guests a variety of goods and services including patch application, chair massage, motorcycle insurance, jewelry, clothing, artwork and home products. Also to be enjoyed was a decadent dessert spread donated by McCaffrey Supermarkets.
The highlight of Cyclefest was the live drawing of the winning raffle ticket for a 2009 Harley-Davidson 883 Iron. Congratulations to Ed Greaney of Stockton, NJ who purchased a single ticket at Bowman’s Tavern, one of the many local venues that allowed us to display the bike and offer tickets to patrons.
Thanks to the generous sponsorship of many of our area’s businesses and individuals, the Cyclefest committee, chaired by Charlene Schwartz, will award approximately $49,000 to advanced cancer care at St. Mary.
The Cyclefest donation will go toward the $1 million needed for Frameless Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) equipment, a breakthrough in the treatment of otherwise inoperable tumors and the hospital’s area of greatest need in 2009.
