Having Fun

A 12ft tall lighted Eiffel Tower welcomed guests

Saying Thank You with a French Accent and Parisian Flare

Members of the St. Mary President’s Society, Legacy Society, and distinguished guests gathered at the Trenton Country Club on November 19th for the annual recognition dinner in which the Medical Center thanks those donors who make it possible for St. Mary to thrive. This year’s theme, “City of Lights – An Evening In Paris,” was a real feast for the senses. Guests mingled in the ballroom surrounded by the sights and sounds of Paris. The Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and the twinkling lights of a Parisian evening were the backdrop to soft French Bistro music.

After guests had an opportunity to sample some French wines and indulge in rich hors d’oeuvres including escargot and foie gras, Sue Wert, Foundation Board Chairperson and Greg Wozniak, St. Mary President and CEO reported on the impact of donor gifts and 2009 accomplishments. While enjoying authentic regional cuisine, donors were reminded just how critical and precious their philanthropic contributions are during the video presentation “A place of Healing and Hope – Two Patient Stories.”

Both President’s Society and Legacy Society members were recognized and honored for their generosity in an additional video montage, “Investing in the Future of Healthcare – A Tribute to Our Donors,” which ran continuously throughout the evening.

One of the evening’s highlights unfolded when three talented performers posing as members of the wait staff (The Three Waiters) surprised everyone with a duel between all things French and Italian that culminated in an operatic performance in the vein of “The Three Tenors.”

Of course no evening in Paris would be complete without dessert, and the assortment of French pastries, mousse and crepes was delectable enough to please even the most discerning palette. Tres bien!
